The Lower Loup Natural Resources District held a Nitrogen Certification meeting in Columbus on Dec. 9. The forty-one area producers who attended the event, including several Lower Loup NRD Directors, heard presentations from LLNRD and UNL experts about proper fertilizer placement, nitrogen recommendations, and efficient manure use. Attendees also learned about an innovative Nitrogen Isotope Study taking place through a partnership between UNL and the LLNRD. The certification earned by attending is good for four years.
