A Public Hearing was held on Jan. 25, 2024, at the Lower Loup NRD (LLNRD) Headquarters in Ord to hear testimony on the LLNRD proposal designating Drought Zone 18 and Drought Zone 20 as Groundwater Quantity Management sub-areas, as per Chapter 8 of the LLNRD Groundwater Management Area Rules & Regulations, “Groundwater Quantity Management Sub-Areas; Designation; Controls.” The proposed designations were approved by the LLNRD Board of Directors.
At the same hearing, the LLNRD approved to implement into the District’s rules and regulations Rule 5-2 regarding improper irrigation runoff.
